New Delhi hosting 2010 Commonwealth Games

For those of you following our project to sterlise and vaccinate dogs in the area to be used for the Commonwealth Games in 2010, well progress has slowed to a halt. Our proposals were initially welcomed by the local government, but then changes in personnel in the government meant that things stalled for quite some time and it looks like nothing will come of the NGO Forum's project plan.

But its not all bad news, the most recent government personnel changes has increased the interest in all NGO's projects regarding street and stray animals and as a result there is a likelihood that additional premises will be allocated to the NGOs in areas of Delhi not yet covered (mostly in East Delhi).

Animal India Trust has increased the numbers of dogs being sterlised to 450 per month just from the Lajpat Nagar clinic - imagine how many more we could do with another site.

Don't forget its world animal day on 4th October - go to their site to find out more about this important initiative.
