Animal India Trust's other work
In-patients and Out-patients
As well as running our Animal Birth Control and Anti Rabies vaccination programmes, we also treat sick and injured stray, street or pet animals belonging to the economically under priviledged.
The main areas of treatment are skin infections including mange and injuries resulting from traffic accidents. Our mobile clinic is invaluable in assisting sick and injured animals.
Education
We aim to promote responsible pet ownership by distributing leaflets in both English and Hindi (the local language) which detail basic needs of pet dogs such as feeding, water, shelter, and regular vaccination and registration of your pet.
We publish material regarding sterilisation, why it is necessary and how Animal India Trust operates its Animal Birth Control Programme.
We also distribute a leaflet regarding Rabies - detailing the symptoms demonstrated by animals with the disease as well as what to do if you believe an animal is suffering from rabies, and what action to take if someone has been bitten by an infected animal. It has some simple does and don'ts.
Finally we have brochures which explain the role of Animal India Trust and our Animal Birth Control and Anti Rabies Vaccination programmes.
Rehoming Puppies
Whilst our goal is the sterilisation of dogs and the reduction in the birth rate of puppies, we often admit puppies in need of a good home. Through our volunteer network, we are able to re home these puppies into loving families. Street dogs are known for thier intelligence and good nature and make great pets.
